African Astronomical Society (AfAS) Conference and General Assembly 2025

Event
23 March 2025 - 28 March 2025 Gauteng, South Africa
Hosted by UNISA, the AfAS-2025 conference is set to bring together a vibrant mix of professionals, researchers, students, and education and outreach officers from across the African continent and the global astronomical community.

Here, astronomers, government representatives, policymakers, and international partners from Africa and other parts of the world will converge to share ideas and collaborate.

This year, we celebrate Africa’s growing contributions to the field, with a programme that covers astronomy’s latest scientific advancements, impactful outreach initiatives, and innovative education activities. Key discussions will highlight the legacy of the International Astronomical Union General Assembly in Cape Town (IAU-GA2024), updates on flagship projects, and strategies for the continued development of astronomy infrastructure on the continent.
