Due to the COVID-19 situation and in accordance with recent advice from the UK government, the SKA Organisation Headquarters has activated a new set of measures on 17 March until further notice.

This includes:

  • Wherever possible, SKAO staff are requested to work from home unless involved in business-critical activity, such as Facilities Management and IT, that requires them to be in the office;
  • As a consequence, no visitors will be allowed on site until the end of these restrictions;
  • All meetings will now be done via videoconference connection;
  • Staff should not be undertaking business travel both within the UK and internationally.

These measures aim at doing our part in containing the spread of the pandemic, ensuring our staff wellbeing and safety while also ensuring business continuity for SKAO in what is arguably a critical time for the organisation.

Due to the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 situation, these measures will be reviewed continuously and updated as required.

I’d like to reassure our colleagues and partners around the world that the SKA’s global community spirit remains as strong as ever and that we are determined to adapt to these challenging circumstances.

I hope you and your families all stay safe.
